An opportunity to learn the basic skills of snorkeling and learn to identify commonly seen (and some rarely seen) fish, corals and other marine beings with a dive instructor
Event will begin with a short briefing on the beach by instructor
- Importance of marine life and protecting the ocean
- What to look for when snorkeling in specific places
- Safety precautions
- Basic skills for safe snorkeling, how to put on snorkel/fins and how to care for them while you are in the water and afterwards
The instructors will then split the group into 3 kids per group and take turns in taking them into the sea, putting on mask and fins, learn how to clear mask, empty snorkel, and other basics before heading a bit further out and learn about the beautiful things they will see out there. All sea activities will take place in shallow waters where even non-swimmers will feel confident
What kids will learn or explore in the event
- Importance of marine life
- Basic skills required for snorkeling which is safe for the kids as well as the
corals and other marine life
- Learn about the commonly seen fishes, their importance and how to help preserve the marine environment
Host
Saazu - dive instructor, surfer and an ocean enthusiast with years of experience working with kids and a deep passion to educate kids on everything related to the ocean, beach and the environment
Athi - a watersports instructor with over 15 years of experience in the field. Very knowledge of safety skills required in all forms of watersports activities and very good with teaching skills to kids and adults of all ages
